Mute the World

SONG MEANING:
This is a song about my wife Leah. It’s a song to remind me how how important it is that I always remember to validate her thoughts and feelings.
Here’s how this song came to be.
One night, Leah and I were about to sit down on the couch to watch a movie and she turned to me and said, “Let’s not watch a movie… instead, let’s watch YouTube videos that teach us how to write songs!” I said, “Heck yeah… I love that idea.”
Not much later, Leah turned to me and said, “How do you like these lyrics? Everyone needs to take a pause and mute the world and let your wife know she’s heard.”
I thought these lyrics were perfect. They help me to remember to ‘mute the world’ and let her know that she’s heard. At the end of the day, we all need validation.
Here’s a photo from ‘Day 2’ at East Iris Studio A in Nashville, TN. The whole band is in the control room and we’re listening to one of the songs we just tracked. As you can tell from the look on my face, this is a long and sometimes grueling process!
